AU volleyball teams falls to Oswego

OSWEGO, NY – The Alfred University volleyball team lost to host SUNY Oswego, 3-1, Saturday afternoon. The Saxons (5-11) lost the first two games (25-23, 25-19), won the third (28-26), and dropped the fourth (25-15).

Freshman Paige Jensen (Weiser, ID/Weiser) had 13 kills, seven digs and two blocks to pace the Saxons. Junior Emily Crosby (Fairport, NY/Fairport) had nine kills and 20 digs and freshman Janelle Gallipeau (Rochgester, NY/Greece Olympia) had 33 assists and 14 digs.

Freshman Chelsea Hall (Grand Island, NY/Grand Island) had eight kills and 15 digs; and freshman Samantha Wood (Newfield, NY/Newfield) had six kills and three blocks; and sophomore Kellie Hughson (Albion, NY/Charles D’Amico) had 12 digs and three service aces.

Alfred is in action next on Wednesday, Oct. 6, at 1 p.m. at Roberts Wesleyan, in a match that will be played at Churchville-Chili High School near Rochester.
