MT. MORRIS, NY – The Alfred University women’s cross country team placed eighth of 12 teams competing at the SUNY Geneseo Invitational, held Saturday at Letchworth State Park.

Junior Elisabeth Phillips-Jones (Watertown, MA/Watertown) led the Saxons, placing 29th on the six-kilometer course in 24:49.80. Senior Melissa Haahr (Owego, NY/Tioga) was 38th (25:22.90) and freshman Eliza Parker (Oswego, NY/Oswego) was 73rd (26:40.20).

The AU men’s and women’s teams are in action next on Saturday, Oct. 16, at the University of Rochester’s Yellowjacket Invitational.
