ALFRED, NY —The Alfred University men’s soccer team lost to visiting Ithaca College 1-0, in an Empire 8 Conference contest Sunday afternoon.

Max Grigi scored the lone goal of the game for Ithaca, with just over fifteen minutes to play in the first game (2-5-3, 0-2-0 Empire 8). The Bombers outshot AU 16-6, and held an 11-1 advantage in shots on goal

Junior Elliot Thorpe (Highlands Ranch, CO/Thunder Ridge) made 10 saves in goal for Alfred (4-5-2, 0-2-0 Empire 8). Justin Parlapiano made one save to earn the shutout victory for Ithaca.

Alfred is in action next on Saturday, Oct. 9, at 7 p.m. at home against Nazareth.
