ALFRED, NY – The Alfred University volleyball team was lost their season home finale, 3-0, to Houghton College Tuesday evening at the McLane Center.

AU (5-17) lost by scores of 25-1, 25-17 and 25-20. Freshman Chelsea Hall (Grand Island, NY/Grand Island) had five kills and 11 digs for the Saxons. Freshman Paige Jensen (Weiser, ID/Weiser) had four kills and eight digs; freshman Janelle Gallipeau (Rochester, NY/Greece Olympia) added nine assists and a block; and freshman Kelsey Brand (Elmira, NY/Elmira Free Academy) had a kill and two blocks.

Alfred is in action this weekend at the Empire 8 Conference crossover tournament at Ithaca College. AU plays two matches on Friday, Oct. 22 — at 3 p.m. against Utica and 5:30 p.m. against Stevens — and two more on Saturday, Oct. 23 — at noon against Ithaca and 2:30 p.m. against Hartwick.
