Lady Saxons fall to host Roberts Wesleyan, 8-1

ROCHESTER, NY—The Alfred University women’s soccer team gave up five first half goals en route to a 8-1, loss to host Roberts Wesleyan

Junior midfielder Molly Finnerty (Watertown, NY/Watertown) scored the lone goal for Saxons with just over six and half minutes left to play.

Mandi Hochheimer finished with four goals (3 in the first half) all assisted by Erika Luedka to pace The Raiders.

Roberts Wesleyan dominated the contest outshooting the Saxons 40-6, and held a 23-3 advantage in shots on goal. Senior goalie Shanna

Ewoldt (Tuscon, AZ/Waubansie) made sevens saves playing the first half for AU. Sophomore Rebecca Windover (Lowville, NY/Lowville) played the second half and made seven saves. Amanda Prestigiacomo made two saves in goal for Roberts Wesleyan (13-2-1)

Alfred (3-8-3, 0-6-2 E8) is in action next on Saturday, Oct. 30, at 4 p.m. against visiting Morrisville.
