AU women’s basketball falls to Marietta, 60-54

MEADVILLE, PA-- The Alfred University women’s basketball team was defeated by Marietta, 60-54, in the consolation game of the Allegheny Tournament.

Senior guard Lyndsay Murphy (Almond, NY/Hornell) paced the Saxons netting a game-high 26 points, while picking up five rebounds. Senior forward Autumn McClain (Oneida, NY/Oneida) scored six points, and had a game-high 14 rebounds; senior guard Courtney Lincoln (Waterloo, NY/Waterloo) scored nine points and five assists.

Aleisha Guiler recorded a double-double, scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds to pace Marietta (2-0). Rachel Jones netted 16 points and had three assists, and Mallory Hoff scored seven points, and had 11 rebounds.

Murphy was named to the all-tournament team for Alfred (1-2). The Saxons are in action next on Monday, Nov. 22, at 6 p.m. when they travel to take on Penn College
