HOBOKEN, NJ—The Alfred University women’s basketball team was defeated by host Stevens, 61-39, Saturday afternoon.

Senior guard Lynsday Murphy (Almond, NY/Hornell) scored a game-high 13 points, and had four assists and three boards to pace the Saxons (6-8, 2-4 Empire 8). Junior guard Christina Jordan (Cornwall, NY/Cornwall) netted eight points, and freshman Grace Williamson (Olean, NY/Olean) scored six points and had four boards. Senior forward Autumn McLain (Oneida, NY/Oneida) picked up a team-high five rebounds.

Victoria Webber and Avis Benjamin each scored 10 points to lead the Ducks.

Alfred is in action next on Jan. 20 at 5 p.m. at Wells College.
