SCHENECTADY, NY -- The Alfred University softball team has added a non-conference doubleheader to its 2011 schedule. The Saxons will play a pair of games at Union College on Thursday, April 7, beginning at 3:30 p.m.

AU (7-2) has not been in action since March 12, when the Saxons concluded their nine-game Spring Break trip to Florida. Since then, three doubleheaders have been postponed and two others cancelled due to inclement weather causing poor field conditions.

AU is set to play its Empire 8 Conference openers this weekend, with 1 p.m. home doubleheaders against Ithaca (Saturday, April 9) and Utica (Sunday, April 10).
