Work by AU staff member on display at Wellsville Creative Arts Center

“Highways and Byways,” paintings by Hope Zaccagni, adjunct instructor and technician in the NYS College of Ceramics at Alfred University, are on display at the Creative Arts Center in Wellsville, now through the end of May.

Zaccagni is the two-dimensional technician for the divisions of Expanded Media and Drawing, Painting, and Photography. She maintains a studio in Alfred Station.

A graduate of the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill with a bachelor of arts degree in fine arts in painting and sculpture, Zaccagni spent the summer following graduation at the Penland School, Penland, NC, studying jewelry-making.

After 13 years working as a self-employed silver and goldsmith making fine art jewelry, she founded The Puppet Company in Belmont, where she started painting again. She was also a costume and set designer for the Alfred Ballet Company.

The Wellsville Creative Arts Center is located on corner of Main and Madison streets. The center is open daily from 10 a.m.-8 p.m., with the exception of Mondays, when closing time is 5 p.m. Call 585.593.3000 for more information.
