Born and raised in Dayton, OH, Duffy graduated with honors and distinction from Ohio State in 2007 with a BFA degree in painting and drawing. He earned a Master of Fine Arts degree from Cranbrook Academy of Art in 2009.

Duffy, who is teaching in the Division of Expanded Media, makes drawings, prints and typographic treatments that involve a melding of disciplines and processes.

His current work uses "text to represent formative, yet random, experiences" from his life, he explained. "The confessional tone allows viewers to experience the often mysterious and reluctant versions of reality we carry as our memory of who we are."

Duffy has exhibited regionally in Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky and Tennessee, and internationally in Japan and Korea
