ELMIRA, NY-The Alfred University men’s soccer team fell to host Elmira 2-0, Saturday afternoon in Empire 8 Conference play.

Andre Germano and Ryan Limero each tallied goals for Elmira, as they outshot the Saxons 31-12, and held a commanding 9-1 advantage in corner kicks.

Senior Elliot Thorpe (Highlands Ranch, CO/Thunder Ridge) played the first 69:31 in net for AU making 14 saves, before sophomore Jacob Bird (Auburn, NY/Skaneateles) played the remaining time, Jared Micheller went the distance for the Soaring Eagles recording 11 stops.

AU returns to action Tuesday, Sep. 20th, at 7 p.m., when they take on visiting Wells College.
