AU professor to present Bergren Forum on ‘Motorcycling Culture’

Darwyn Cook, associate professor of mathematics at Alfred University, will present "The Motorcycling Culture" at the next Bergren Forum, Thursday Sept. 29 at 12:10 p.m. in Powell Campus Center’s Nevins Theater.

Cook will be giving a broad spectrum look of the motorcycle culture itself. He will touch on the types of motorcycles available today, motorcycle performance, safety, and the description along with the history of "one percenters."

Cook received earned a bachelor of arts degree in computer science simultaneously with a bachelor of arts and master of arts degrees in mathematics from the State University of New York at Potsdam. He earned a Ph.D. in mathematics from Louisiana State University.

The Bergren Forum, sponsored by the Alfred University Division of Human Studies, meets Thursdays during each academic semester at the University. Participants are encouraged to bring a lunch; coffee and tea will be available.
