ALFRED, NY-- The Alfred University women’s soccer team lost to visiting Nazareth, 4-0 Saturday.

Freshman goalie Alicia Hanes (Vestal, NY/Vestal) stopped a career-best 14 shots in net for AU. Abbie Carey started in goal for the Golden Flyers making one save in 62:55 minutes of work, before being relieved by Bethany Novak.

Erica Conte netted a pair of goals for Nazareth (3-2-3, 1-0-1 Empire 8), as they outshot the Saxons 29-2, including a demanding 18-1 advantage in shots on goal. Christine Belding finished with a goal and an assist, and Kassandra Prutsman scored a goal.

Alfred (2-7-0, 0-2-0 E8) returns to action Saturday Oct. 8, at 12 p.m. against host Ithaca.
