ITHACA, NY-The Alfred University women’s soccer team was defeated by host Ithaca College 7-0, Saturday afternoon in Empire 8 Conference play.

Freshman goalie Alicia Hanes (Vestal, NY/Vestal) started in net for AU making five saves in 45 minutes of action. Junior Ashley Frazell (Newton, NJ/Newton) played the second half, but was not called upon to make a save.

Rachael Palidino led the Bombers attack, recording four points on two goals and two assists. Julie Winn chipped in with a pair of goals as well. Ithaca used a trio of goalies in the contest. Becca Slant started in net playing the first half. Becca Lewis played 27:45 making the lone Bomber save, and Mary Dilizzaro played the remaining 17:45 in goal for Ithaca.

AU returns to action Sunday, Oct. 9, at 2 p.m., when they take on visiting Hartwick College in an E8 Conference matchup.
