ALFRED, NY - The Alfred University football team remained in the national Division III rankings after Saturday’s 32-29 overtime win over Hartwick on Homecoming.

The Saxons (4-1, 2-1 Empire 8) moved up on spot in the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) rankings, from 23rd to 22nd. AU remained in the 23rd slot in the D3football.com poll.

AU will have a test this weekend when the Saxons entertain Salisbury (MD) University at noon on Saturday. Salisbury (5-0, 3-0 Empire 8) sits atop the Empire 8 standings and is ranked 12th and 18th, respectively, in the AFCA and D3football.com polls.
