ROCHESTER, NY-The Alfred University men’s soccer team lost to host Nazareth 4-1, Saturday afternoon in Empire 8 Conference play.

Nazareth netted two goals in each half, en route to the 4-1 victory. Junior Frankie Mannino (Elmira, NY/Elmira Free Academy) scored the lone Saxon goal just over nine minutes into the contest. For the game, the Golden Flyers held a commanding 23-9 advantage in shots, and a 15-2 advantage in corner kicks.

Senior goalie Elliot Thorpe (Highlands Ranch, CO/Thunder Ridge) made a game-high eight saves for AU, and Kyle Connolly made three saves in net for the Golden Flyers.

AU (5-6-2, 0-4-0 Empire 8) returns to action Saturday, Oct. 22, at 5 p.m., when they take on visiting Utica College.
