AU to host Webcast to announce Western New York Development Council plan
Alfred University will serve as one of four host sites for Tuesday’s (Oct. 25) release of the strategic plan compiled by the new Western New York Development Council.
The public is invited to the interactive Webcast at 6 p.m. in Room 302 of the Olin Business Building on campus. The forum can also be viewed live at the regional council’s Web site at www.nyworks.nyu.gov. The Council will be conducting the forum from the Drama Theater at the Center for the Arts on the University at Buffalo’s North Campus.
The regional council will use the plan released Tuesday as the blueprint in deciding which local projects it will recommend for state funding. Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo formed 10 regional councils in July to compete for some $200 million in state funding with the top four plans each receiving $40 million. The next six proposals will split the remaining $40 million. No region is to be shut out of funding.
