AU to showcase ‘Architecture in Helsinki’ in concert

Alfred University’s Student Activities Board presents "Architecture in Helsinki" in concert, Saturday, Nov. 19, at 8 p.m. in Davis Gym.

The concert is open to the public for a general admission fee of $10 and $5 for students. For tickets and reservations, please e-mail the Performing Arts Box office at tickets@alfred.edu.

Consisting of Cameron Bird, Gus Franklin, Jaime Mildren, Sam Perry, and Kellie Sutherland, "Architecture in Helsinki" is an Australian Indie pop band specializing in a wide variety of instruments. In 2007 their hit single "Heart it Races" made its way into the ARIA top 50 singles chart.

The band, which formed in 1999, toured the United States with Death Cab for Cutie and has opened for the likes of David Byrne, The Polyphonic Spree, Yo La Tengo and Belle and Sebastian.
