Voice students to present Sunday afternoon program of classics, jazz

Alfred University vocal students of Luanne Crosby, professor of voice and chorus, and Adjunct Professors Rebecca Weaver and Kelly Perkins, will present a recital in Howell Hall at 3 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 20.

The recital is free and will be followed by an informal reception with the performers and teachers.

The performance will feature works from the classical vocal repertoire as well as musical theater, jazz standards, and popular music.

Crosby earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in music from the State University of New York at Fredonia, and a doctorate in musical arts degree in vocal performance from the Cleveland Institute of Music/Case Western Reserve University.

She has sung professionally with a number of companies, including the Cleveland Opera, the Aspen Opera Theater, the Chautauqua Symphony, and the Orchestra of the Southern Finger Lakes.
