ALFRED, NY - Grace Williamson (Olean, NY/Olean), a sophomore forward on the Alfred University women’s basketball team, has been named Empire 8 Conference Player of the Week.

Williamson averaged 18.5 points, nine rebounds, 3.5 steals and two blocks per game as the Saxons finished the week going 2-0, while improving to 6-1 on the season. Williamson netted 12 points and had eight rebounds in a 74-54 thrashing of visiting Wells College. She recorded her fifth double-double in seven games, scoring a game-high 25 points, while adding 10 boards, four steals, and three blocks as AU defeated SUNY Canton, 80-65.

Alfred returns to action Saturday, Dec. 10, at 1 p.m., when they hit the road to face Cazenovia College.
