AU indoor track and field teams compete at Roxbury CC Invitational 1/10/12
Sophomore Isaiah Cassin (Candor, NY/Candor) led the AU men with a second-place finish in the high jump (1.88 meters), while sophomore Rebecca Graudons (Mayfield, NY/Mayfield) posted two third-place finishes - in the high jump (1.52 meters) and pole vault (3.35 meters) - to pace the Alfred women. Other members of the AU men’s team to finish in the top 10 were: senior Rich Scott (Eden, NY/Eden), seventh in the 200-meter dash (23.25 seconds); junior Jeremy Weaver (Lancaster, PA/Lancaster Catholic), sixth in the 400-meter dash (52.22 seconds); senior Derek Denkenberger (Horseheads, NY/Horseheads), eighth in the 800-meter run (2:06.69); junior Chris Lopez (Rochester, NY/Pittsford Sutherland), ninth in the long jump (5.66 meters); and junior Mike Raplee (Dundee, NY/Dundee), ninth in both the shot put (10.71 meters) and weight throw (11.22 meters). Other top performers for the women’s team included: junior Kelly-Jo Beck (York, NY/York), third in the shot put (10.24 meters); sophomore Jennifer Kirsch (Penfield, NY/Penfield), sixth in the shot put (9.17 meters); sophomore Corine Pettit (Strykersville, NY/Holland), fourth in the long jump (9.45 meters) and sixth in the long jump (4.16 meters); junior Taylor Roberge (Biddeford, ME/Biddeford), fifth in the long jump (4.18 meters); sophomore Samantha Wood (Newfield, NY/Newfield), fifth in the high jump (1.37 meters); and sophomore Chelsea Hall (Grand Island, NY/Grand Island), 10th in the 55-meter hurdles (15.46 seconds).
