Lady Saxons fall to Utica, 70-62
AU trailed Utica, 39-27, at the half, as the Pioneers shot a remarkable 65 percent from the floor. The Saxons came on strong midway through the second half to trim a 19-point (57-38) Utica advantage to just four points with just under a minute left in regulation, as AU outscored the Pioneers 24-13 during the run. Alfred would get no closer as McGee scored the final four points of the contest for the Pioneers from the free throw line. For the game, Alfred (7-9, 0-5 Empire 8) shot 39 percent and Utica (6-10, 1-4 Empire 8) shot 51 percent.
