Bergren Forum to focus on ‘Revolution in Iran’
The Alfred University Bergren Forum presents "Revolution in Iran: Torture, Cell Phones and Zahra’s Paradise," a presentation by Sandra Singer, professor of German at AU on Thursday, Feb. 9. The program begins at 12:10 p.m. in Nevins Theater, Powell Campus Center, and is open to the public free of charge.
Singer will provide insight on recent events in Iran and how the rest of the eager, onlooking world has received the country’s information revolution. The forum will also include how technology has helped in releasing the information on the movement.
Singer earned a bachelor’s degree at Michigan State University and both master’s and Ph. D. degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in the German language.
The Bergren Forum, sponsored by the Alfred Division of Human Studies and the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences, meets Thursdays during each academic semester at the University. Participants are encouraged to bring a lunch: coffee and tea will be available.
