HOBOKEN, NJ - The Alfred University women’s basketball team fell, 70-47, to host Stevens Tech, Saturday afternoon in Empire 8 Conference action.

Stevens shot 48 percent from the field and held AU to 36-percent shooting as the Ducks improved to 6-5 in Empire 8 games and 9-12 overall.

Sophomore forward Grace Williamson (Olean, NY/Olean) registered her sixth straight (16 on the year) double-double on a game-high 18 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Saxons (7-14, 0-11 Empire 8). Freshman forward Lindsay Drummond (Ogdensburg, NY/Ogdensburg) netted eight points and pulled down four rebounds, and sophomore forward Sarah Federico (Buffalo, NY/Holy Angels) scored six points. Senior point guard Kacey Kwiecien (Perry, NY/Perry) dished out a game-best six assists, while committing only one turnover.

Jillian Barrett finished with a team-high 17 points on six-of-10 shooting to pace the Ducks. Dawn Garcia, Victoria Webber, and Avis Benjamin each netted 13 points.

Alfred is in action next on Friday, Feb. 10, at 6 p.m. at home against Utica.
