Former AU faculty member, dean, provost new president at College of St. Rose

The College of Saint Rose, Albany, has appointed David Szczerbacki, the current vice president and provost, its ninth president. Szczerbacki will take over the top job at Saint Rose on July 1.
Founded in 1920, The College ( is a private, independent, coeducational, liberal arts college in the heart of New York’s capital city.

Szczerbacki came to Saint Rose in 2004 from Alfred University, where he served as provost and vice president of academic and statutory affairs. He also held positions as dean of Alfred’s School of Business and acting dean of the College of Engineering and Professional Studies. Szczerbacki joined the Alfred faculty in 1981 as an instructor of management and twice received the University’s outstanding teaching awards.

Szczerbacki and his wife Susan, AU class of 88, have a daughter, Katherine, AU class of 04.
