ALFRED, NY - Harley Cleary (Rochester, NY/Mercy), a freshman guard on the Alfred University women’s basketball team, has been named Empire 8 Conference Rookie of the Week.

Cleary was honored for her play in Alfred’s lone game last week, a 65-57 win over visiting Elmira on Saturday, Feb. 18. The victory in the Saxons’ season finale was the team’s first Empire 8 win of the season. Cleary scored 16 points on six-of-12 shooting and added nine rebounds, six assists and a steal.

It marks the third time this season Cleary has earned Empire 8 Rookie of the Week honors.
