They'll be cycling off from Mars!

The 2012 bike trip to Alfred University’s Reunion Weekend will start in Mars! (Mars, PA, that is, a suburb of Pittsburgh.)

David Conrad '76, Roger Eiss '58, and Jim Randall '77 have selected Mars as the starting point for this Reunion bike trip. They are busily planning the ride. More bikers are welcome.

Just recently they learned that a new "astronaut" is joining their interplanetary fleet. Tom Monna '86 has signed up!

Past Alfred University reunion bike trips have crossed the Poconos ('03 and '08 reunions), the Catskills ('10) and the Adirondacks ('11). This year the bikers will cross the Alleghenies!

Alums are also welcome to join the group in along the route for a few hours as they pass through your area. In this spirit, David Holleb '77 has decided to join the group in Coudersport, PA for the final three days of this year's trip. Last year an alumnus joined them for two half days as they passed through his home territory.

But you don't have to bike to join the fun. Think about getting together for lunch or dinner at a local restaurant as the bikers pass through your area. Several alums did that last year!

The detailed itinerary will be:
Sunday, June 3: Mars, PA to Clarion, PA
Monday, June 4: Clarion, PA to St. Marys, PA
Tuesday, June 5: St. Marys ,PA to Coudersport, PA
Wednesday, June 6: Coudersport, PA to Bath, NY
Thursday, June 7: Bath to Hornell
Friday, June 8: Hornell to Alfred
