Saxon track and field teams open at ECAC indoor championships

NEW YORK, NY - The Alfred University men’s and women’s track and field teams opened competition Friday at the ECAC indoor championships, which conclude today at The Armory in New York City. After Friday’s events, the AU men were in 36th place with one point, while the Saxon women were in 43rd place with .33 points.

Scoring for the AU men Friday was the 4x200-meter relay team of juniors Chris Lopez (Rochester, NY/Pittsford-Sutherland) and Jeremy Weaver (Lancaster, PA/Lancaster Catholic), freshman Tyler Robinson (Lockport, NY/Lockport) and senior Rich Scott (Eden, NY/Eden), who took eighth in 1:33.11.

Sophomore Rebecca Graudons (Mayfield, NY/Mayfield) tied for eighth in the pole vault (3.50 meters). Graudons has already qualified to compete in the pole vault and high jump at the NCAA Division III indoor championships next weekend in Grinnell, IA.
