Ithaca handles AU women’s lacrosse team

ALFRED, NY - The Alfred University women’s lacrosse team was dealt a 20-0 setback from visiting Ithaca College, Sunday afternoon in Empire 8 Conference play.

Alfred (4-9, 0-6 Empire 8) managed just two shots in the first half as the Bombers took a 12-0 lead into intermission. In the Second half the Saxons continued to struggle being held to zero shots, while yielding eight second half strikes from the visitors. For the game, Ithaca (10-3, 6-0 Empire 8) outshot AU 33-2 and held advantages in groundballs (13-11) and draw-controls won (14-8).

AU freshman Taylor Tarajos (Rochester, NY/Greece Olympia) made eight saves in goal for Alfred. Ithaca goalies Jess Worthman and Brittany Romano combined to make two saves.

Tracy Rivas finished with a game-high seven points on four goals and three assists and Nicole Borisenok and Racquel Lividini each scored three goals to lead Ithaca.

Alfred is in action next on Saturday, April 22, at 12 p.m., as they travel to take on Elmira College in their season finale.
