AU outdoor track and field teams compete at Raider Invitational
ROCHESTER, NY - The Alfred University men’s and women’s outdoor track and field teams competed Saturday, April 28, at the Raider Invitational, hosted by Roberts Wesleyan University. There were no team scores.
Senior Rich Scott (Eden, NY/Eden) won the 200-meter dash (21.81 seconds) and took third in the 400-meter dash (49.04 seconds) to pace the Alfred men. Sophomore Rebecca Graudons (Mayfield, NY/Mayfield) led the Alfred women with a win in the pole vault (3.35 meters) and a fourth-place finish in the high jump (1.48 meters). Junior Jordyn Larkins (Rochester, NY/Harley-Allendale-Columbia) set a new school record with her ninth-place time of 26.94 seconds in the women’s 200-meter dash.
Other top performers for the AU women were: senior Elisabeth Phillips-Jones (Watertown, MA/Watertown), seventh in the 800-meter run (2:29.54) and ninth in the 1,500-meter run (5:06.83); freshman Miasia Hillman (Buffalo, NY/Hutch Tech), seventh in the 100-meter dash (13.09 seconds); junior Kelly-Jo Beck (York, NY/York), seventh in the discus (33.18 meters); and freshman Tracie Forrester (Gainesville, NY/Letchworth), sixth in the 400-meter hurdles (1:10.61).
Other top performers for the Alfred men were: senior Randy Brito (New York, NY/Cardinal Hayes), second in the 400-meter hurdles (56.57 seconds), and sophomore Jason Osborne (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool), sixth in the shot put (13.07 meters).
Alfred junior Shane Stadtmueller (Red Creek, NY/Red Creek) competes in the New York State Multi Outdoor Championships in the men’s decathlon and sophomore Chelsea Hall (Grand Island, NY/Grand Island) competes in the women’s heptathlon. Those events are being held Sunday (April 29) and Monday (April 30) at RPI. The AU men’s and women’s teams compete in the New York State Outdoor Championships Friday and Saturday, may 4 and 5, at the University of Rochester.
