Saxon cross country teams run at Highlander Invitational

HOUGHTON, NY — The Alfred University cross country teams competed Saturday at the Highlander Invitational, hosted by Houghton College. The Saxon men’s team placed 13th on an eight-kilometer course and the AU women’s team was 11th on a five-kilometer track.


Sophomore Nolan Rummel (Kings Park, NY/Kings Park) led the AU men, placing 52nd in 29:57.66. Freshman Ethan Foster (New Ipswich, NH/Dublin School) was 68th (31:01.49) and junior Arthur Gross (Hyde Park, NY/Hyde Park) was 71st (31:18.51).


Sophomore Tracie Forrester (Gainesville, NY/Letchworth) paced the Saxon’s women’s team, finishing in 44th place in 21:31.11. Freshman Morgan Flick (Honeoye, NY/Honeoye) was 52nd (21:51.72) and sophomore Alyssa Goot (Cassadaga, NY/Fredonia) was 61st (22:28.71).


Alfred is in action next on Oct. 20 at the New York State championships in Saratoga Springs.
