HOBOKEN, NJ  — The Alfred University volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision to Ithaca Saturday morning at the Empire 8 Conference tournament hosted by Stevens.

AU lost by scores of 25-17, 25-11, and 25-11.

Junior Chelsea Hall (Grand Island, NY/Grand Island) had seven kills and eight digs and junior Paige Jensen (Weiser, ID/Weiser) had six kills and five digs to lead the Saxons. Junior Kelsey Brand (Elmira, NY/Elmira Free Academy) had four kills and block; junior Janelle Gallipeau (Rochester, NY/Greece Olympia) had 10 assists and two service aces; and junior Tara Barone (Derby, NY/Lake Shore) had eight assists.

AU played Hartwick in a tournament game Saturday afternoon and lost, 3-0. The Saxons (1-18, 0-6 Empire 8) are in action next on Thursday, Oct. 11, at 7 p.m. at home against Empire 8 foe Houghton.
