ELMIRA, NY — The Alfred University volleyball team lost a 3-0 decision at Elmira Thursday in the Saxons Empire 8 Conference finale.

AU (1-20, 0-7 Empire 8) lost by scores of 25-16, 25-10 and 25-18. AU was paced by junior Chelsea Hall (Grand Island, NY/Grand Island) with eight kills, six digs and a block.

Junior Paige Jensen (Weiser, ID/Weiser) had three kills, six digs, a service aces and a block; junior Janelle Gallipeau (Rochester, NY/Greece Olympia) had eight assists and six digs; and six blocks; and junior  Tara Barone (Derby, NY/Lake Shore) had 11 assists and three digs.

Alfred is in action next on Wednesday, Oct. 24, at 7 p.m. at home against Keuka.
