PITTSFORD, NY-  The Alfred University women’s basketball team fell in their Empire 8 opener to St. John Fisher College, 63-43, Tuesday evening.

For the game, the Lady Saxons shot 30 percent, 15 percent, and 59 percent from the field, 3-point arc, and free throw line.

Sophomore guard Harley Cleary (Rochester, NY/Our Lady of Mercy) and sophomore guard Emilea Harrison (Conesus, NY/Dansville) led Alfred with 10 and nine points.  Junior forward Sarah Federico (Buffalo, NY/Holy Angels) pulled down a game-high nine rebounds, and scored five points.

Alfred (4-3-0, 0-1-0 Empire 8) returns to action against Albany College of Pharmacy, on Friday, Dec. 7, at 6 p.m.
