Alumnus’ work appears in ‘dirty windows’
Works by Patrick Brennan, AU class of 1998, along with pieces by Jean-Baptiste Bernadet, appear in “dirty windows” through Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013, at toomer labzda, 100a Forsyth St., East Village/Lower East Side, New York.
Viewing “Windows,” a series of recent paintings on canvas, is described as like trying to see the sun through a dirty window – they distort and warp your gaze. Both artists work in layers, finally using a coat of pearly acrylic and glass beads.
Brennan has studio space in Syracuse and Brooklyn. He has been awarded residencies at Atlanta College of Art, Burren College of Art (Ireland), and The Experimental Television Center, Owego.
