2/05/13

ELMIRA,NY- The Alfred University men’s basketball team lost in a 73-50 decision on the road to Elmira College in their second Empire 8 meeting of the season, Tuesday evening.

Elmira got off to a quick start, breaking out to a 40-22 lead, to head into halftime on top, despite the 13 points scored by junior center Gerald Colas (Houston, TX/Cypress Ridge).

Colas finished with a team-high 18 points and seven rebounds to pace the Saxons. Junior guard Thomas Tsatsis (Neponsit, NY/Townsend Harris) also scored five points.

AU (6-15, 3-9 Empire 8) returns to action on Friday, Feb. 8, at 8 p.m. against Nazareth College at McLane Center.
