Jazz pianist to present musical menu during lunchtime forum

Jazz pianist Stephanie Trick, will be performing American Jazz Piano as a part of Alfred University’s Bergren Forum Series.  The presentation will take place on Thursday, Oct. 17at 12:10 p.m. in Susan Howell Hall (note change in usual venue). The event is open to the public free of charge.

A master of Harlem stride, swing, and boogie-woogie piano styles, Trick will perform several jazz pieces during the presentation.  She has released six albums including “Piano Tricks,” “Ragtime Tricks,” “Hear That Rhythm!”, “Stephanie Trick LIVE,” “Something More,” “Two for One,” and “Fourteen,” which came out last November.

Thursday evening Trick will perform a free concert on AU’s Miller Theater stage at 7:30 p.m., thanks to support from the David and Elizabeth Miller Performing Arts Fund and the AU Student Activities Board.

Trick graduated with a bachelor’s degree in music from the University of Chicago but has been playing the piano since she was 5 years old.  To see more of Stephanie Trick’s piano performances you can visit YouTube and her website: http://www.stephanietrick.com/.

The Bergren Forum, sponsored by the Alfred University Division of Human Studies in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, meets Thursdays during each academic semester at the University. Participants are encouraged to bring a lunch; coffee and tea will be available.
