Naz tops Men's Soccer, 5-1

PITTSFORD, NY-  The Alfred University men’s soccer team lost a 5-1 decision to Nazareth College, on the road Saturday afternoon. This contest marks the final game of the 2013 season for Alfred.

Nazareth held a 2-0 lead before freshman Richard Lander (Narrowsburg, NY/Sullivan West) netted a goal at the 40th minute to bring the deficit to 2-1. Nazareth scored another goal, giving them a 3-1 advantage at halftime.

The Golden Flyers scored two more times in the second half, but AU (5-12-0, 1-6-0 Empire 8) would not find the net the rest of the contest.

Senior goalie Samuel Guy (Binghamton, NY/Binghamton) made three saves in 75 minutes, before sophomore Matthew Unick (Warwick, NY/Warwick Valley) played the remaining 15 minutes in net, making two saves.
