Alumna, neighbors open their studios

Susan Bloch, AU Class of 1992, along with three of her neighboring artists known as “The Myrtletown Makers,” will celebrate 16 years of North Coast Open Studios by opening their studios to the public the first two weekends of June – May 31 and June 7-8, 11 a.m.-5 p.m.

Susan’s work is internationally exhibited and collected. She is best known for her carved glass and kiln-formed flower sculptures. Her work appears in books and publications. She explains her recent series of carvings: “I believe the many pitfalls and awakenings we experience throughout our lives opens our comprehension to the vastness of our beings within the greater immensity of the cosmos. By creating faces on glass, the viewer sees into and beyond the flat surface and is reflected by it…”
