Rosenthal ’75 appointed to Hudson River regulation board
Jeffrey Rosenthal of Amsterdam and Mayfield, AU Class of 1975, has been appointed by NY Gov. Andrew Cuomo to a five-year term on the Board of the Hudson River-Black River Regulating District.
Among other purposes, the mission of the board is to operate and maintain reservoirs to provide flood protection to municipalities located in the Hudson River and Black River watersheds, and administer the permit system on the Great Sacandaga Lake.
Before retiring in 2011, Jeffrey was deputy counsel to the Governor’s Office of Regulatory Reform (GORR) for 16 years, serving under four governors. Prior to his initial appointment to GORR, he was Amsterdam City Court Judge and previously served as both Montgomery and Fulton counties’ assistant district attorney.
Jeffrey earned a bachelor of arts degree in history from AU and a juris doctor from Vermont Law School. He was admitted to practice law in New York and the federal courts in January 1979.
He is married to Lea Ann (Szurek) Rosenthal.
