Experience counts
There is no better
training for many professions than experience in student
government, and there are many ways to get involved and make
a difference at Alfred University.
Campus activism
For more than 25 years, AU’s Student Senate has been instrumental in initiating changes
and improvements on campus, from building renovations and
campus safety to enhancing multicultural life. Major functions include
- Raising and discussing issues of student concern
- Proposing constructive changes to promote student well-being
- Distributing funds to other campus organizations
- Electing or recommending student representatives for University and college committees
- Sponsoring a leadership seminar
Organizational structure
The Senate is composed of elected representatives for various campus constituencies. The president and vice-president are chosen by campus-wide election. Meetings are held weekly. |
