| Safe campus While Alfred's location ensures a high level of safety and security, the University is well aware that substance abuse and illegal behavior can happen anywhere and has put in place a staff that is committed to providing professional safety and security services to the academic community, and educating its members on how to be aware of safety and security issues. Staffing Eighteen blue light emergency phones are located throughout the campus and security aides and guards provide escort assistance as do members of individual residence hall communities. Parking Student vehicle registration is $50 for the first vehicle and $25 for each additional vehicle registered. Special parking permits for visitors or campus guests should be obtained from the Office of Public Safety and are only valid for 3 consecutive days. Visitors are subject to the same rules and regulations as a registered vehicle owner. Signs have been erected indicating student, faculty/staff, and visitor parking areas.
