This basketball skills and team camp is for girls entering grades 6-12 who wish to improve their basketball skills. Individual participants as well as teams are both welcome!

Program
This exciting camp emphasizes all aspects of offensive and defensive play, focusing on individual skills and team concepts. Instruction will be provided by qualified coaches and campers will play 4 games each full day of camp. Each player will be evaluated and given a written evaluation to take home.

Camp begins on Sunday afternoon with registration starting at 2:00 p.m. in McLane Center, and ends Thursday afternoon.

Facilities
McLane Physical Education Center will be the focal point of camp activity.  Five outside courts will also be used. The modern training room isstaffed with certified athletic trainers.  Residential campers will behoused in pleasant residence halls (2 per room) and enjoy "all-you-can-eat" meals in Powell Dining Hall.

Director
The camp is directed by Coach Bill Horn, well-known director of AAU Girls' basketball - Southern Tier Lady Hornets.  He is alsobasketball coach at Friendship Central and varsity boys soccer coach at Whitesville Central. Coach Horn has had 20 years experience coaching basketball with over 300 wins, 2 section five class DD titles for boys, and 3 number one team seed awards.  He has twice been named "Coach of the Year" and has been published in Winning Hoops Magazine. 

Fees
The camp fees of $350 for residential and $250 for day campers (due with the enrollment form) include instruction and training, a camp T-shirt, an official camp basketball plus room and board for residential campers.

Each participant is responsible for transportation and incidentals.  Details and directions will be sent to campers upon our receipt of their enrollment form and payment. If, for any reason a participant must be sent home early, all expenses will be paid by the camper/parent.

Special Incentives
Team Discount - Five or more players submitting enrollment forms and deposits together will receive a $10 discount per player. Important: All enrollment forms and camp fees must be sent together in the same envelope and received by June 2!

Sibling Rate - A discount of $10 per sibling will be given (in addition to the team discount, if applicable).

Early Bird Special - The names of all campers enrolling by April 15 will be entered into a drawing to win a free Alfred University sweatshirt.  Four sweatshirts will be awarded. (To be eligible, forms and payment must be received in our office by April 15.)

Financial Aid
Sorry, there are no scholarships or other forms of financial aid available for campers in any of our summer programs.

Enrollment - Sorry, this program is no longer available.
Campers who enroll will receive further information and additional materials including medical forms, liability releases, emergency notification forms, etc. These materials must be filled out as soon as possible and must be back in our hands no later than June 13. Updated immunization information (including dates) is also required at that time. If you do not have updated immunization information on hand, you may want to acquire this from your physician now to avoid processing delays.

Important Information for Coaches
Coaches who bring teams of 8 players or more can apply to work the camp, if they wish to, and their teams will stay together for the games. These arrangements must be made in advance and are subject to University approval. Contact Coach Horn at the phone number or email address indicated above for further information.

Cancellation Policy
Refunds, minus a $25 administrative fee, will be made for cancellations received in writing by June 13. A 50% refund of the camp fee will be made for cancellations received from June 14 through June 27. We cannot issue refunds to campers who cancel after that date because we must hire staff, purchase materials, arrange for meals and reserve housing and athletic facilities long before the camp actually begins. We base all of these arrangements on the number of campers expected and cannot make changes after these commitments have been made.

About Alfred
Alfred University is located in the Village of Alfred in the beautiful Finger Lakes region of Western New York State.

The campus, a 6-hour drive from New York City, 2 hours from Buffalo and 1 1/4 hours from Rochester, is easily accessible by car or bus from all directions and is located just five miles south of Interstate 86. The nearest major airport is the Rochester International Airport (about 65 miles north). Transportation to and from the airport can be provided for an additional charge if we receive your request by the due date indicated in your enrollment confirmation letter. After that date campers should make their own arrangements with an airport limo service.
