Women at AU

Student Groups : Women's Issues Coalition

The Women's Issues Coalition (WIC) was one of the first activist and social group for women and men on Alfred University's campus. WIC's purpose was to raise awareness of women's issues and to create opportunities to encourage an egalitarian society.

WIC is currently named SAGE (Student's Advocating Gender Equality) in order to accommodate a wider variety of genders and to create a safe-space for all people. It continues to be a social and activist group for anyone interested in gender equality.

SAGE strives to promote gender equality through information, events, and awareness, which highlight our common bond as people in an effort to start erasing stereotypes about gender.
