Alfred Art Walk is a collaborative monthly venture created by the galleries in the Village of Alfred and on the campuses of Alfred University and Alfred State College in an effort to foster dialogue within the local arts communities.

The Arts Speaker Series is held once per month on the Third Thursday of the month at 4:30pm in Nevins Theater during the 2023-2024 Academic Year. On October 19, the Visiting Artists and Scholars Committee welcomes Cultural Politics of Biodiversity: Animal Life on Camera by Artists from Turkey. A seminar broadcast into Nevins Theater, Powell Campus Center, Alfred University, in two panels, on October 19 at 4:30 pm artist and scholars joining us from as far as Turkey.

Among Us offers a cross-section of the history of video art of the last quarter-century or so by esteemed and emerging practitioners from Turkey which demonstrates a compelling engagement with issues of animal life, in Turkey and beyond. On view in the Harland Snodgrass Gallery October 9 - 28, open 6am-midnight daily.

QuAC is proud to present "OUT LOUD" an open-call collection of work from over 15 different queer artists in the Alfred community, bringing to light both our inherent diversity and strength as a community. Exhibition will open October 19th and close on the 27th.

Cohen Gallery
Five accomplished alumni potters from the School of Art and Design, Rebecca Chappell (MFA 08), Sanam Emami (MFA 02), Ryan Greenheck (MFA 04), Alleghany Meadows (MFA 99), and Kyla Toomey (BFA 04), will be showing and selling their pottery at the Cohen Gallery. The show and pottery sale will open with a reception on Thursday, October 19, 5-8pm and run through December 3.

Open Screening is a long-standing tradition in the School of Art & Design that provides a platform to share your video and moving images to the wider community. This semester we will be hosting Open Screening in Holmes Auditorium on October 19 at 7:30pm. All students, faculty, and staff are welcome to bring their own time-based media (video/sonic, or both) to screen via a portable hard drive.
