Hornell Public Library celebrating International Year of Glass with exhibition, reception, raffle

The International Year of Glass will be celebrated Friday, April 22, in Hornell, when the Hornell Public Library hosts a reception and exhibition of glass art submitted by Alfred University students and faculty. The event, from 6 to 8 pm, will include a raffle for a glass vase donated to the Library by Angus Powers, Professor of Glass at Alfred University.

A fundraiser to provide humanitarian aid to the people of Ukraine will be held Friday, April 15, from 5-8 p.m. in the second floor lounge of Powell Campus Center.

Moderna co-founder Dr. Robert Langer, Marlin Miller awardees to speak at Commencement

Alfred University will hold its 186th Commencement on Saturday, May 14, with Dr. Robert S. Langer, co-founder of COVID-19 vaccine maker Moderna, delivering the keynote address. The 2022 Marlin Miller Outstanding Senior Award winners, Merveille Bulonza and Makenzie Cashmer, will also speak at Commencement.
