Matt Yuhas ’94, returns to campus for work on Brick renovation project

Matt Yuhas was a sophomore art and design major at Alfred University when he lived in The Brick during the 1991-92 academic year. The oldest residence hall on campus, The Brick, with its wide hardwood hallways, high ceilings, and basement dining area, is beloved by the thousands of students who have called it home.

U.S. Sen. Chuck Schumer visits Alfred University campus, announces multi-million-dollar grant to create new partnership with U.S. Army

U.S. Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-NY, visited Alfred University today to announce a multi-million dollar federal grant for the development of ceramic materials that can survive the white-hot heat of extreme speeds. Alfred University will partner with the U.S. Army in the project.

For 31st consecutive year, Alfred University named on Princeton Review ‘Best Colleges’ list

The Princeton Review on Wednesday, Aug. 17, released its 2023 Best 388 Colleges and, for the 31st straight year, Alfred University appears on the list. Alfred University—one of 45 colleges and universities in New York State recognized—has been honored by the Princeton Review each year since the publication released its first Best Colleges list in 1992.

Professor Coral Lambert sculpture to be unveiled next month; ISC award to follow

Alfred University Professor of Sculpture Coral Lambert, the winner of the Outstanding Educator Award sponsored by the International Sculpture Center, will be honored Sept. 23 at a ceremony on the Alfred University campus.

Music students to perform at Lincoln Center

Alfred University music students, studying in the Performing Arts Division, School of Art and Design, will perform Sept. 10 in the Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center with the Asian Culture Symphony for the Golden Night Concert
