Alfred University appoints Mark G. Danes vice president of Marketing and Communication

Alfred University President Mark Zupan announces that Mark G. Danes will be joining the University as vice president of Marketing and Communication, effective Nov. 1. Danes comes to Alfred University from Des Moines University, where he has led the marketing and communication team since 2016.

Confucius Institute, Alfred University host first Chinese Language Education Development and Administrate Conference of New York State

Alfred University recently hosted the Inaugural Chinese Language Education Development and Administrate Conference, which brought more than 30 administrators and educators from 17 schools/school districts and organizations in western New York to the campus.

Alfred University alumna wins prestigious glass science award

Alfred University alumna Jennifer Hunt, who earned a master’s degree in materials science and engineering in spring of 2022, has been named recipient of the prestigious Oldfield Award, presented annually by the Society of Glass Technology in recognition of students’ theses and research projects.

Professor of Sculpture to lead tour of William Underhill's sculpture at ACAM

Coral Lambert, Professor of Sculpture at Alfred University, will conduct a tour of the Alfred Ceramic Art Museum’s exhibition “William Underhill: Casting a Legacy” at 6 pm Oct. 20. at the Alfred Ceramic Art Museum. Following the tour, she will take questions.

Xiaowen Chen co-curates Beijing Art and Technology Biennale

The inaugural Beijing Art and Technology Biennale (BATB) will be held at 798CUBE from September 22, 2022 to January 31, 2023. With its theme "Synthetic Ecology," this inaugural edition will be directed by Xiewei Song and Hera Lee, and co-curated by Xiaowen Chen, professor of printmaking in Alfred University's School of Art and Design, and Naiyi Wang.

Glass blowing studio operated by Pearl Dick ’98 featured on The Kelly Clarkson Show

Alfred University graduate Pearl Dick ’98, a glass artist based in Chicago, was featured on a recent airing of The Kelly Clarkson Show, where she talked about her glassblowing studio, which offers programs that encourage growth and healing in inner-city youth.

Saxons’ Scanlon is E8 Women's Soccer Co-Offensive Player of the Week
