Finding new ways to teach electrical circuits: Robot Basketball

Alfred University engineering students studying electrical circuitry are learning the ups and downs of radio frequencies through the use of miniature robots acquired recently by the Inamori School of Engineering.

Oct. 20 Bergren Forum to explore Freedom of Information Law

Alfred University’s Oct. 20 Bergren Forum will be delivered by Ted Forsyth ‘03, an alumnus of Alfred University and an adjunct professor of Criminal Studies. Forsyth’s lecture will address Freedom of Information laws: “The Power of FOIL: Using NYS's Freedom of Information Law (FOIL) as a (Criminal Justice) Research Tool.”

Alumna Tan Mu ’15 has solo exhibition in Berlin; works being shown at other international festivals

Alfred University alumna Tan Mu ’15, who earned a B.F.A. degree from Alfred University, has artwork currently being shown as a solo exhibition at Peres Projects in Berlin, Germany.


Alfred University professor Willard featured in art exhibition in Minneapolis

Work by Alfred University School of Art and Design faculty Adero Willard, visiting professor of ceramics, is featured in an exhibition currently on view at the Northern Clay Center in Minneapolis, MN.


Naval Nuclear Lab scientist to speak in Environmental Speakers Series

Keith O’Connor, senior scientist, reactor plant chemistry, Naval Nuclear Laboratory, will present at next week’s Environmental Studies Speakers Series. The presentation—titled “Surface Water Through Space and Time”—is scheduled for 12:20 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21, in Roon Lecture Hall, Science Center, on the Alfred University campus.


Saxons’ Cox earns weekly football honors from Empire 8

Christopher Cox, a linebacker on the Alfred University football team, has been named Empire 8 Co-Defensive Player of the Week.


E8 names Saxons’ Freeland men’s soccer Player of the Week

Chase Freeland of the Alfred University men’s soccer team earned weekly recognition from the Empire 8 Conference.
