Inaugural Alfred Cup begins Friday, Aug. 29, as Saxon men’s soccer team takes on Alfred State

The Alfred Cup, an annual competition between varsity sports teams from Alfred University and Alfred State College, begins on Friday, August 29, when the Saxons travel to Alfred State for a 7 p.m. men’s soccer game.

Alfred University opens 190th academic year with enrollment milestones

Alfred University proudly launched its 190th academic year on Monday, August 25, as students returned for the start of the fall semester. With more than 450 new students, the incoming class is among the most notable in recent history. It includes the largest-ever cohorts of AU Scholars and participants in the AU Advantage Summer Bridge Program.

Mark Zupan publishes op-ed in Democrat and Chronicle

An op-ed by Mark Zupan, Alfred University president, appeared over the weekend in the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle. In the piece, Zupan discusses the importance of answering the question “Why?” as it applies to students realizing their purpose.
